Children today can access numerous facilities and opportunities that previous generations could hardly think about. While we get to hear people complain about the plethora of things youngsters are born into, it is also important that we acknowledge what these children are doing with all of that. They’re winning new accolades for the country, making innovations, and also caring for the environment. Here we take a look at 5 such extraordinary children who are making our country proud:

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa

Rameshbabu, a chess prodigy from Chennai, has thrust India into the spotlight in international chess after he won the World Youth Championships in October 2019. Rameshbabu has numerous other titles under his belt. At the age of 10, he was the youngest international Chess Master in history, and at 14, he became the second youngest person to have the 2600 Elo rating. Rameshbabu is also the fourth youngest person in history to have earned the title of Grandmaster. 

Arshdeep Singh 

A young wildlife photographer from Jalandhar, Arshdeep made history at the age of 10 by winning the Young Wildlife Photographer of The Year-Asia in 2018. He developed a passion for photography after his father gifted him a camera on his 5th birthday. Taking pictures of his pets and the birds in his neighbourhood set him on a path in wildlife photography. His candid show of owlets won him a prestigious award in 2018. In 2020, his picture of a Treetop Douc won him the title of Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2020. 

Kautilya Pandit 

With an IQ of 130 points, Kautilya is a genius at the age of 5. He has earned many names, including “Google Boy” and the “Human Computer” for his incredible general knowledge and ability to recall details and stats of over 213 countries. He participated in the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati at the age of 6 and even addressed 150 CEOs from different industries as a guest speaker at HM Network Advantage. Kautilya received the Global Child Prodigy Award in Jan of 2020.

Tilak Mehta

Having built a digital courier company at the age of 13 that provides a one-day parcel service, Tilak is one of the country’s youngest entrepreneurs. His company, ‘Paper N Parcels’ established in 2018, offers door pick-up and delivery services for a range of items. For his accomplishments as a young entrepreneur, Tilak was awarded the Global Child Prodigy Award in 2020. He was also featured in the Top 100 Prodigies List of 2020. 

Master Truptraj Pandya

Truptraj is a tabla genius who entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest-ever tabla master. As a toddler, he used to play with aluminium boxes as an instrument. He started playing the tabla at the age of 2 years and has given more than 200 public performances since.
