Youth play a pivotal role in nation-building. Swami Vivekananda said, “My faith is in the younger generation, the modern generation, and out of them will come my workers.” This remark exemplifies the influence that young people might have on society.

Statistics indicate that India has an advantage over other nations since young people comprise 62% of the population. Youth is a strong catalyst that can change society and is associated with novel and unconventional thinking. All they need is a little direction and inspiration apart from the necessary assistance from the government, commercial sector, and civil society. Our country’s youth are teeming with untapped potential that can be developed and used to improve our society.

It’s crucial to have a stream of narratives and role models that demonstrate “you can” and offer a variety of conceptions and approaches in a world that consistently tells practically every young person, “you can’t.” Here are some examples that will serve as an inspiration:

Jasper Paul – Second Chance Foundation

In 2017, Jasper Paul founded the Second Chance Foundation, an NGO that rescues and rehabilitates individuals from Hyderabad’s streets. Their requirements for food, shelter, and medical care are all met at the Second Chance home, and everyone there treats the residents with compassion and respect. Jasper now operates three such shelters for the underprivileged and abandoned in Hyderabad. Numerous helpless individuals find new lives in these houses, thanks to Jasper’s compassion and devotion. Jasper serves as a haven for those in need and is dedicated to giving them the treatment they deserve.

Mugdha Khatri – Healing Saathi

22-year-old Mugdha Khatri started an animal shelter, Healing Saathi in Uttarakhand that works round the clock to save sick and injured animals and provide a home for the voiceless. She gave up her job to care for these wounded and abandoned animals and is working to improve their quality of life. She saw that throughout the pandemic, it had been highly challenging for the stray animals to find water and food, so she decided to start her shelter for the unfortunate strays as the number continued rising.

Sahadeva Foundation

The Sahadeva Foundation in Dhanbad, Jharkhand works for underprivileged children with free food, education, healthcare, and training. It serves as a hub for numerous health-related awareness programs and campaigns. The foundation’s core mission is to improve youngsters who work in low-wage jobs like rag picking, coal mining, working in small stalls, etc. They place equal emphasis on the healthcare of these kids in addition to their education.

Yash Parashar – Nirashreet Seva Ashram

Nirashreet Seva Ashram, founded by Yash in 2014 in Indore, is home to roughly 38 elderly people with no one to care for them. The Ashram intends to provide each one of them with shelter over their heads as well as a life of honor and dignity. Each one’s happiness is the top priority for Ashram’s committed volunteers. They receive nutritious food, prescription medications, and the affection they have been missing for so long.
