\u201cWhen I look into the eyes of animals, I can see their pain. They ask for help without ever saying anything. They won\u2019t even cry out loud. My mission is to ensure that no animal is left without help on the streets,\u201d<\/em> says Anuradha Dogra who joined hands with Animal Hospital and Shelter in Noida years ago and continues to be an activist for these voiceless souls. In conversation with Sarang Bobade, CEO and Co-founder of Donatekart, Anuradha throws light on the immense support the NGO has received through the crowdfunding platform since 2017 and the impact of the Donatekart Social Investment Plan (DK-SIP).

There\u2019s something to be said about collaborations and partnerships that withstand the test of time. Animal Hospital and Shelter and Donatekart have been working together since 2017, and whether it\u2019s food, medicines or more, the NGO has received support from hundreds of people through the platform. However, Anuradha admits that the DK-SIP has had a more consistent impact.

\u201cWe\u2019ve received so much help through Donatekart for years now and I\u2019m forever grateful for that. But running an NGO is always a struggle, we\u2019re always falling short of one thing or another. And the monthly giving plan bridges this gap. It\u2019s an assurance that at least one aspect – whether food or medicines – is taken care of and that makes a huge difference.\u201d<\/em>

Animal Hospital and Shelter is one of the biggest rescue shelters in the NCR region, and they have volunteers visiting the animals over the weekends, with sometimes even school children coming in. However, it takes a lot to continue the work they are doing, on the scale that it\u2019s being done. And this is where DK-SIP plays the biggest role.

Through it all, Anuradha continues to fight for what she believes in.

\u201cWhat are we if we don\u2019t help those who can\u2019t ask for help? And if we lose our humanity, what right do we have to call ourselves humans?\u201d she says.<\/em>
