Corona virus, a fear of infections, bacteria and their potential damage has gripped everyone with fear. This is the worst pandemic since World War II. Research shows that adults 60 and older, especially those with preexisting medical conditions, especially heart disease, lung disease, diabetes or rare condition are more likely to have severe — even deadly — coronavirus infection than other age groups.

The elderly are immune-compromised and require high-quality care, love and attention. They’re at a vulnerable age. 

In their old age, their body doesn't support them as it used to anymore, it's difficult to do their everyday tasks. Going to the bathroom can be a challenge for some. And while everyone deserves to age with grace, some of these elderly have to deal with embarrassment on a daily basis. These senior citizens raised us, they did their part, they should be resting and enjoying this time.

With the Corona virus at bay, it’s extremely important to ensure that they practise the best hygiene practices. They defecate in their undergarments or pass urine in their sleep. It's needless suffering and shame they have to deal with. Sleeping with soiled clothes or blankets can be quite unhygienic. Not only is this a risk for their health but is risky for the people around them.

Many of the senior citizens we reach out to live in old age homes or rest homes. It can be extremely difficult to cater to each person immediately as there are many who require constant care and attention. If we can provide them with adult diapers, then it can help the elderly a lot. Not only will it be hygienic for them but it will also be safe for the ones around them. 

With your help, these senior citizens can get their independence back. They can spend their final days with dignity.

4. Agewell Foundation(New Delhi): Agewell Foundation, India is a not-for-profit NGO that has been working for the welfare and empowerment of older persons of India since 1999. Agewell Foundation has set up a network of volunteers spread across India and interacts with older persons on a daily basis through its volunteers’ network. Recognizing the work being done by Agewell Foundation ECOSOC has granted Special Consultative Status to Agewell Foundation at United Nations since 2011.
