Project
The Akanksha Foundation is a nonprofit organization working towards providing innovative learning and schooling to empower children out of poverty. Over the past 30 years, Akanksha has supported many students in their schooling journey and currently runs 26 schools in partnership with municipal corporations across the state, free of cost. Akanksha believes in learning being a holistic process, and hence has detailed and innovative styles of teaching, which enable students to grasp concepts that would help them develop in all spheres.
Akanksha aspires to ensure that every child in poverty can be educated on their way out of the cycle. The organization looks for equipping a very important part of our population with the skills required to further progress themselves, as well as the ones around them.
Underprivileged children miss out on every opportunity to live a nourishing childhood, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Less than half of children between the ages of 6 and 14 go to school in the country. As these children grow, they are less likely to support themselves fully or become contributing citizens to the country.
The lack of education will inevitably set them on the path toward poverty and even crime. Many of these children who are probably even gifted intellectually will never have an opportunity to polish their talents and contribute towards the development of the nation. What they need is some support to show an interest in education as it is mostly a luxury they cannot afford otherwise.
Akanksha's newest 6 schools are partnering with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to provide quality education to students in and around our school locations. We urge supporters to come forward and help us with materials that are required to support school operations in the city of Nagpur.
