Sandy, a friendly dog, was one day found on the corner of a street completely malnourished and with a bleeding leg. He was barely a year old and it was evident that he hadn’t had a proper meal in days and was in severe pain. He was so weak that he couldn’t even cry out for help. Luckily, a kindhearted woman saved his life by getting him the help he needed.
However, unlike Sandy, there are many strays who never get the timely treatment they need. Animals face so many atrocities at the hands of humans. They are abandoned, left starving, and even abused and injured and many even consider them a nuisance. This is the story of countless stray animals in India.
Hundreds Of Strays Are Left Struggling On The Streets
There are hundreds of stray dogs that have no access to clean drinking water or food. They rely on shops, restaurants, and eateries for their daily meals. Some of them are so gravely injured that they either succumb to those injuries or never fully recover.
“One day we got a frantic call at around 10:30 pm, a dog needed to be rescued. We didn’t waste any time sending our ambulance for the rescue. It was a hit-and-run case - the accident had broken his spinal cord, and he will never be able to walk again. Sarvoham Animal Foundation: Sarvoham is a 24/7 rescue dedicated to caring for animals in Bangalore, India. Established in April 2017 by Haris Ali at the age of 23, its mission is to 'Rescue, Shelter, Protect & Rehome.' Currently, the dogs in the home are either abandoned, physically challenged, lost or too old to survive by themselves. They rescue animals from accidents, injury, cruelty and neglect and offer them shelter.
