Illuminate Their Path: Save Telangana’s Strays with Life-Saving Radium Collars

Last night, a heartbreaking tragedy struck Garima Agarwal, a volunteer with Matrubhumi NGO, when she witnessed the lifeless bodies of three young puppies and their mother on the roadside, likely victims of yet another preventable road accident. Every evening, Garima would feed these innocent pups, forming a bond with them and seeing their joy in her presence. But now, the light of their lives has been extinguished far too soon, their only crime being their inability to make themselves visible to passing vehicles. Sadly, they are not the only ones. Hundreds of animals lose their lives every day across India in road accidents due to poor visibility and high traffic, particularly at night.

In response to this tragedy, Garima is launching a life-saving initiative to provide reflective collars for street animals. Reflective collars, designed to catch the light from vehicle headlights, make animals visible from a distance, significantly reducing the risk of accidents. With this campaign, Garima’s goal is to ensure that no stray animal goes unnoticed on the road, creating a safer environment for both the animals and the people on the road.

The statistics are staggering. India has an estimated 35-40 million stray dogs, and thousands of these animals die in accidents each year. In Telangana alone, the numbers are significant and continue to rise. These are preventable losses, and Garima believes that a small yet effective measure like a reflective collar could save countless lives. Each collar is a beacon of hope, a symbol of compassion, and a simple tool to protect animals that have no voice of their own.

Garima’s campaign begins in Attapur, where she hopes to distribute reflective collars to the local strays. But her vision extends much further: she dreams of protecting animals across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and ultimately, all of India. And while donations are often the backbone of campaigns like these, Garima is asking for something a bit different—direct involvement. She is sharing a link through which anyone can order these reflective collars, which will then be shipped directly to her for distribution to the animals who need them most. This approach ensures that supporters are actively involved in the mission, directly contributing to the safety and well-being of the voiceless.

What is Donatekart ?

How to claim Tax-Exemption for my contributions on Donatekart?

After you complete your donation successfully, you will find the 'GET 80G' button on the payment success page. Please fill in your PAN number, complete address, and name as per PAN and submit. Your 80G certificate will be generated and sent via email within 24 hours.

Alternatively, you can get your 80G receipt in a few simple steps:

Log in to your account using the same email ID you used for the donation
Go to ‘My Donations’
Choose the financial year for which you'd like the donation certificate
Click on ‘Download 80G Certificate’
Fill out the Form (if required)
Submit the form and 80G will get downloaded instantly

Instead of receiving separate 80G certificates for each donation, you'll receive a consolidated 80G certificate via email covering all your donations made through our platform in the financial year. Further, The corresponding 10BE form that proves your eligibility for the tax deduction will also be consolidated. This way, you won't have to worry about multiple downloads and can save time.

How To Avail 10BE?

To qualify for tax exemption on your donations, you need to obtain a 10BE. This can be done by filing your 80G claims for donations made during the Financial Year (FY). You can download your 10BE from the‘My Profile’ section by 31st May of the next FY and also receive it via email.

For example: if you made donations between April 2023 and March 2024 (FY 2023-24), you will get your 10BE by 31st May 2024, provided you need to claim the 80G for these donations.

Please note that you cannot claim 80G for donations made between April 2022 and March 2023 (FY 2022-23) anymore as the window for claiming it has closed. However, you can still get the 10BEs for that year if you made 80G claims on or before 31st July 2023.

Why do we collect a tip amount ?

Sometimes prices of the products change during the course of the campaign, we use these tips to cover the hike in prices and deliver the goods to NGOs.

Tip is a voluntary contribution towards our platform and donors can choose to give any amount as tips.

Are these NGOs verified ?

All these NGOs are registered and are highly reputed in their areas of service. You can visit them and talk to them in person if you desire. Please write into us at info@donatekart.com and we'll provide you with all their contact details.

How do I know these products have reached the right beneficiary ?

At Donatekart, we value 100% trust and transparency. It is mandatory for NGOs to send updates to donors,once the campaign is completed. We request you to wait for a few days so that we can deliver the products to our NGO partners and they can distribute them to the needy.Within a month,you would see update(s) in the form of pictures or videos from the NGO in the 'Updates Tab' of the campaign you donated to.
