Join Aparajitha And Her Two Sons In Their Fight For The Safety of 1800+ Animals In U.P
Project
“Whenever someone asks my mother how many kids she has, she says ‘more than 250’ - without even batting an eyelid. Her furry kids come before my brother and I and we couldn’t be happier,” - Aakanssh Ramadyan of Pawsters Foundation laughs as he talks about his mother’s passion.
Pawsters Foundation was established in 2017 by Aakanssh and Adhyuth’s mother, Aparajitha Ramadyani, a retired ex-paramilitary officer. But her journey started long before that in 1999 when Sheeba entered her life as a dog and a cherished daughter. Sheeba made her think about countless other dogs on the streets of India who were not as lucky as her but equally worthy of love.
For over two decades, they have been a guardian angel for the voiceless souls
Based out of Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Pawsters is a safe home for more than 220 dogs. They also feed hundreds of stray dogs and take care of over 1800 dogs and countless animals within their 30-kilometer radius.
“After 22 years of service to the nation, I find solace in this noble cause. Today both of my sons have joined me in this mission and it makes me so happy. These animals are all alone, they need our support to live a good life,” - Aparajitha Ramadyani, Founder.
Talking about rescue calls, Aakanssh says that they get around 15-20 calls per day. Some of them are accident cases, some of pet abandonment, and some others are about animals suffering from life-threatening conditions.
“A month ago we rescued Champ, a German Shephard who was abandoned by his family and tied on the Noida-Agra Expressway. When we went to rescue him we saw he had injuries on his shoulders and under his eye. He was bleeding profusely and if there was any delay in rescuing him, he would not have made it. We were there just in time.”
Such cases are nothing new for these passionate animal lovers who spend most of their waking hours tending to the sick, old, injured, and abandoned. They try their best to give them a second chance at life.
However, in this journey of healing, they have faced numerous challenges
While the influx of critical cases increases, the NGO faces a serious crunch in financial resources. Despite their best efforts, their savings are no longer sufficient to care for hundreds of dogs in need. They need help with dog food.
“Multiple visits to vets are crucial, sometimes even in the dead of the night. And our car, once a savior, now falls short. We desperately need a rescue van to reach and rescue those in need. This isn’t just about a vehicle; it’s about saving lives.”
Pawsters Foundation is a labor of love, but love alone cannot cover the costs. You can support them and help them save many more innocent lives.
