Sulochana Beru Has Dedicated Her Life To Uplifting The Helpless, Support Her “When we found out our son wasn’t like other children, we were a little taken aback. This was decades ago, and at that time there was even more stigma and lack of awareness. We had to do a lot of learning to give him the best possible life, and as parents, we faced many challenges. We soon realized that there were so many more families like ours that needed guidance and help. There were also those from low-income families who had no means to care for their loved ones who were differently abled. We wanted to do our bit for other children like Raju.” - Sulochana Beru, Founder, Beru Matimand Pratishthan

Mr. and Mrs. S.P Beru started Beru Matimand Pratishthan in 1989 in Pune and in a few years moved to a bigger premise in Badlapur, Maharashtra to accommodate more people. In all these years, they have made a great impact on so many differently-abled people, and they want to continue their efforts with your help.

“These people are completely neglected by society. They have no access to basic necessities and are even abandoned by their families. Here at Beru Matimand Pratishthan, we take in everyone regardless of age, s*x, caste, creed, or religion. We make every effort to give them the most comfortable life, with the latest amenities and care. Most of all we give them a loving home and a family to call their own.”

Currently, Beru Matimand Pratishthan has a hostel and hospital, workshops and activities, and well-equipped facilities. The staff is dedicated to ensuring that the 100+ residents have a happy, healthy and wholesome life.

Specially-abled people are so often discriminated against, abandoned and even abused that they’re not given the support they need to survive. Beru Matimand Pratishthan works hard to give them a better life. Now, they need your help to get groceries and diapers for the 100+ residents there.

Mr. and Mrs. S.P Beru started Beru Matimand Pratishthan in 1989 in Pune. Today, they take in people who are differently-abled, and sick senior citizens. They currently have 100+ residents who are looked after with love and care at their shelter in Badlapur, Maharashtra.
