The city of Vrindavan that lies along the Yamuna is a place like no other. Made up of countless temples of Lord Diety and Radha, lush greenery, and thousands of devotees and sadhus, Vrindavan’s charm and magic is hard to ignore. This holy city is said to be one of the oldest and most important places of pilgrimage.
And it is this very city that was ravaged by the pandemic. With an increase in the number of Covid cases, deaths, loss of jobs, and a halt to tourism, Vrindavan suffered for months. Sadhus and the underprivileged went days without food, and the struggle continues even today. Thousands of people are starving, and the people of Vrindavan need your help. Fortunately, there is hope.
Rahul Brijwasi’s Dedicated Efforts Have Made A Difference
Rahul Kalyan Brijwasi, a real estate agent by profession, started feeding animals in need before the pandemic.
“There were so many animals that were abandoned and left to die, I wanted to help them all. We started by feeding cows, bulls, and calves, but soon we started feeding all other animals who needed us. When the pandemic struck, so many people in the country were suffering. I knew I wanted to do something to help those that I can reach out to.” - Rahul Kalyan Brijwasi
Rahul now feeds fresh and healthy meals to over 400 people every day in and around Vrindavan. He feeds sadhus and children and anyone else in need. His aim is to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry. Along with food, Rahula also gives those in need clothes and blankets to survive the cold. Rahul’s dedication to this cause has changed so many lives.
“Every time these children see me, they call me bhaiya and that makes my day. All the sadhus here used to rely on others’ kindness for survival, but due to the lack of tourism, they had no help. Now when I see the sadhus and children happily eating the food we serve them, I know I’m on the right path. I’m able to do all of this only because of the Almighty’s blessings.”
Your Support Can Feed Hundreds Of Sadhus and Kids
While Rahul continues to do his best to feed the sadhus and children of Vrindavan, he needs your help to reach out to more people.
“Due to the pandemic, those who used to help us with donations are not able to come forward and lend their support. We have been so busy with our seva that it’s our sole responsibility and focus. With your help, we can reach out to so many more people in need.”
Rahul now needs your help to get grocery kits, fruits and a van to make fresh meals and distribute them to hundreds every day. He also needs your help to get stationery for the underprivileged children in Vrindavan and help them have a brighter future.
