Kuldeep, Pramod and Kalu Ram Chowdhury have been die-hard animal lovers. But, as it happens for most of us, work and several other responsibilities took priority and everything else took a backseat. 

“But all of this changed when we saw a dog being treated so badly right in front of our eyes. Someone had thrown acid on her and she was in terrible pain. Her eyes and nose were burnt and her skin was peeling off, we didn’t think she would make it. We got to see how cruel humans can be towards helpless and innocent animals. That was the day when we resolved to do something for these animals who have no one but us. That was the start of the Dog Home Foundation in 2020,” - Kuldeep Khatri, Founder, Dog Home Foundation.
  

While a dog showers us with unconditional love we often forget to look after them - Dog Home Foundation works to change this. They want to see every dog happy and comfortable.  

The Dog Home Foundation takes care of around 400 stray dogs in need of medical treatment and care. While they attend to the injured as soon as they can, there are many more dogs who live with them permanently. The Dog Home Foundation has already achieved a milestone by treating 13,000 Dogs in the field out of which around 2000 dogs have already arrived in the shelter.

“We treat them like family here. We work 24/7 for these dogs in two shifts i.e. From 11 A.M. to 7 P. M. and from 7 P. M. To 3 A. M. with a nursing staff of 5 people in each shift. Ambulances are available round the clock to rescue any animal in need. Not only that, a proper X-ray machine, blood test facility, and other medical equipment are also available to treat these injured animals.”  

But there is a space crunch now and the organisation needs your help to build a bigger shelter so that they can give the sick and injured animals safe place to recuperate. They can’t do it alone - they need your support.
