    Project

For people with visual challenges, life is extremely difficult. Not only do they have to overcome physical challenges but they also face tremendous stigma and discrimination. Getting access to basic essentials and public places, and getting an education becomes very challenging. For those who come from lower economic backgrounds, their struggles are only increased.

There are over 62 million people in India who are visually challenged. They deserve to have opportunities just like everyone else. They deserve to live a life full of happiness and comfort and not in constant apprehension of meeting with one accident or another.

They have lost their sight to an illness or accident, their everyday struggles are a reminder of that

Simple tasks become difficult in a matter of no time and the worst part of all this is that they end up being dependent on others for simple tasks. Often they turn into an object of ridicule or pity for everyone.

“That is not a life anyone would want for themselves! We feel like a burden to our loved ones. We end up blaming our fate for this and get into depression. We believe that this is our life and it can never get any better,” - Suman*, a middle-aged woman who is visually challenged

But with a simple donation, you can change everything

A simple walking stick is a boon for these individuals. It can guide them, and make them aware of steps, or any obstacle in the way. Unfortunately, these are not readily available most of the time. It's either not sold where some folks live or too expensive. Which is an unfair reason for them to suffer.

You can be a ray of hope for the visually challenged and give a new meaning to their lives. Donate walking sticks and bring back their smiles now.

    Beneficiary NGOs:

      1. Vinayak Blind Women Welfare Society: Founded by 64YO Dashraj Gyawali in New Delhi, Vinayak Blind Women Welfare Society is a safe home to 80+ young women who come from lower-income families and have no one to support them. Here they’re given nutritious food, medical care, and a friendly environment to help them fulfill their dreams of continuing higher studies and getting a good job. Visually challenged himself, Dashraj is like a Guruji to these women who have found a ray of hope in this kind-hearted man.

      2. Antarjyoti Balika Vidyalay: Together with other like-minded people, who wanted to uplift and empower the visually-challenged community and fight for their rights, Ramesh Prasad founded Antarjyoti Balika Vidyalaya in 1993. This school in Patna is now home to 110 visually challenged girls who are working hard to pursue their dreams. They’re given proper food, medical care, and education completely free of cost. They’re also taught computers, and dance lessons, encouraged to learn life skills and take up vocational training. The school aims to prepare them for facing the world and give them their rightful place in society.

      3. Snehadeep Trust: Established in 1999, by three visually challenged graduates, Snehadeep Trust believes in empowering people with disabilities and giving them a dignified life. The Trust has two branches - one in Bangalore and one in Ranebennur, a city in the Haveri district in Karnataka. They look after around 150 people with disabilities.

      How To Donate

      FAQs

Donatekart is India's one of a kind crowdfunding platform that allows donors to directly donate towards products that are required by the NGO. In the last 5 years, we have partnered with 1400+ NGOs all over India to raise 150+ crores worth of products. More than 5 lakh unique donors have used our platform to donate to charities of their choice. As a donor, you are guaranteed 100% transparency - after you donate towards the products, you will receive an update from the campaigner.

After you complete your donation successfully, you will find the 'GET 80G' button on the payment success page. Please fill in your PAN number, complete address, and name as per PAN and submit. Your 80G certificate will be generated and sent via email within 24 hours.

Alternatively, you can get your 80G receipt in a few simple steps:

      1. Log in to your account using the same email ID you used for the donation
      2. Go to ‘My Donations’
      3. Choose the financial year for which you'd like the donation certificate
      4. Click on ‘Download 80G Certificate’
      5. Fill out the Form (if required)
      6. Submit the form and 80G will get downloaded instantly

Instead of receiving separate 80G certificates for each donation, you'll receive a consolidated 80G certificate via email covering all your donations made through our platform in the financial year. Further, The corresponding 10BE form that proves your eligibility for the tax deduction will also be consolidated. This way, you won't have to worry about multiple downloads and can save time.

To qualify for tax exemption on your donations, you need to obtain a 10BE. This can be done by filing your 80G claims for donations made during the Financial Year (FY). You can download your 10BE from the‘My Profile’ section by 31st May of the next FY and also receive it via email.

For example: if you made donations between April 2023 and March 2024 (FY 2023-24), you will get your 10BE by 31st May 2024, provided you need to claim the 80G for these donations.

Please note that you cannot claim 80G for donations made between April 2022 and March 2023 (FY 2022-23) anymore as the window for claiming it has closed. However, you can still get the 10BEs for that year if you made 80G claims on or before 31st July 2023.
