Project
India has 6.2 crore stray dogs and 91 lakh street cats who are struggling to survive. Out of them, the lucky ones get food and shelter and don’t end up in a garbage dump. But so many of them die painful deaths.
“People are not always kind to these voiceless animals. While some shoo them away when they come looking for food or water, there are others who don’t bat an eyelid before beating them to death or throwing acid on them. It is really sad and whatever we do is less for these animals,” - Archie Sen, an animal rights activist, based out of Ranchi.
They can’t tell us about their pain and end up suffering in silence
Countless strays spend their days fending for their basic necessities. They can’t express their agony but their pain is real. To add to this, the COVID pandemic has struck a huge blow to them. Hundreds of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shops, and establishments have been shut down. This had made the lives of the strays even more difficult.
But the sad truth is that even though the world is slowly moving towards normalcy, these innocent beings are still struggling. Be it the hot summers or the chilly winters, they live on the streets and eat from the garbage, and often end up killing themselves in the process.
But this Daan Utsav, you can change all that and much more
On the occasion of Daan Utsav, let us resolve to do something for these strays by giving them nutritious food. The best part is that you can join this mission from the comfort of your own home and yet make a huge difference.
This is your chance - come forward and donate and give the furbabies a life of happiness and comfort.
