Stranded & Alone, Thousands Of Innocent Animals Are Under Threat Amidst Delhi Floods

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Trapped in the rising waters, Mintu, a stray dog, whimpered helplessly. The floods in Delhi destroyed everything she knew - the street she lived on, the kind neighbour’s home and her fellow stray dogs. Mintu was trapped, and as the waters rushed towards her, she was swept away. However, Mintu was pulled to safety just in time. A group of kind samaritans carrying out rescue operations saw her and risked their own lives to carry her out of the water and into safety.

Mintu’s life was saved. But there are countless animals who are terrified and completely helpless, and so many more that have lost their lives to these devastating floods. Every life matters, and these animals need just as much help as humans during this crisis.

NGOs And Individuals Are Working Tirelessly To Rescue Animals

The ongoing floods in Delhi have pushed vulnerable animals into life-threatening situations. With low-lying areas completely inundated, countless animals, both domestic and stray, find themselves trapped and helpless in rising floodwaters. The severe conditions have led to the loss of hundreds of animal lives in the past three weeks alone. Many animals struggle to find a higher ground or safe shelter, enduring immense fear, distress, and physical injuries.

Over the last few days, the National Disaster Response Force has rescued more than 900 animals in Delhi NCR. People like Sanjay Mahapatra, founder of the NGO House Of Stray Animals, are also working tirelessly to rescue animals and bring them to safety. They have saved 300+ animals so far. However, their challenges are plenty. Not only are they risking their lives to save these helpless souls, but they’re also struggling to find food and medicines for them since everything has been washed away by the floods.

The floodwaters have also left many animals injured, traumatized, and vulnerable to diseases. At a time like this, the NGOs need all the support they can get to help these animals recover and survive this tragedy.

There’s An Urgent Need To Protect These Innocent Animals

Donatekart along with its on-ground NGOs is committed to helping these animals survive the devastating floods. However, they can’t do it without your support. The need is for immediate relief materials like food and medicines. With your support, these NGOs will be able to keep the animals safe, comfortable and healthy, and will also give them the chance to focus completely on rescuing the animals without worrying about procuring products.

The urgency to rescue and protect these innocent creatures has never been greater, as they desperately need our support to survive this calamity. Together, we can rescue, protect, and restore the well-being of these innocent creatures who have been so severely impacted by this natural disaster.
