Homes & Fields Submerged As Incessant Rains Continue
As the rivers and canals breached their embankments, villages in Jalandhar witnessed their homes and fields submerged in water. The situation has caused flood-like conditions in cities such as Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, and Amritsar. With houses inundated and inadequate storm sewers, the floodwaters have forced families to take refuge on the terraces of their homes, facing immense hardships.
More than 1,744 villages are now completely submerged, with people struggling to meet even their basic needs. The situation is especially dire in southern Punjab and bordering areas.
How You Can Send Urgent Help To Punjab
To support the flood-affected families, Donatekart, along with our on-ground ngo partners, aims to give them grocery kits, ready-to-eat kits, hygiene kits, tarpaulin sheets, water bottles, medicines, mosquito nets and more.
Access to food has become a pressing concern for those displaced by the floods. By providing essential groceries, we can ensure that families have sustenance during these challenging times. As homes and shelters are waterlogged, families need durable and waterproof tarpaulins to create temporary shelters and protect themselves from the elements. Additionally, medicines can address common health issues in flood-affected areas with limited medical facilities.
Your support matters. Together we can bring relief to the flood victims of Punjab and ensure they get the timely help they need.
