Give Stray Dogs A Better Life With FIST NGO

Since childhood I have been working for the welfare of street dogs of Surat, Gujarat, me, and my siblings were majorly into rescuing dogs and feeding the dogs staying near our house, the money and the time were managed by me. We have seen many stray dogs and cats facing issues when it comes to food, shelter or treatment required for their injuries, I have always tried to help as much as I can from my side when it comes to spending money for their hospital treatments, still sometimes it gets difficult financially and then I have to request my friends and family to contribute.

I started feeding the stray dogs near my house, which was financially okay for me, but then last year Corona started, me and my brother started feeding dogs in industrial area of Surat, Pandesara, Pandesara GIDC, as all the mills & companies were closed, we were the only hope for them when it came to food or rescue, this way I started feeding around 200+ dogs and treated them whenever required which needed vaccinations and medications too, along with good food, I am also into sterilizing dogs so they no longer litter and suffer on roads.

I came across with a dog who suffered from acid attacks and their mistake was sitting near the door of the family and asking for food. Me and my sister took the dog to hospital for treatment when we came back to release him, the same family said that leave the dog somewhere else as it is smelling, we know animal rights and the right way is to educate them, which we did as well.

About the NGO

The NGO has been running for the past 15 years. We have started a shelter outside Surat. My main aim is to get most of the dogs sterilized and I have daily requirement for donation when it comes to food, medication and paying in shelter for caring the injured dogs. Till now I have tried to save as many dogs as possible and at the same time getting them sterilized, so far, I have managed to sterilize around 50+ of them.
