    Project

When my husband abandoned me and my parents refused to take my children and me in - all of a sudden, I was left all by myself. I was scared and didn’t know how to survive. That’s when I rescued a cat near my house and tried my best to save him. Although the cat didn’t survive, that innocent animal rescued me and gave me a new purpose for my life,” - Ganga, Animal Activist.

A resident of Suwana village of Bhilwara district, Rajasthan, Ganga Jangir has been working for the betterment of stray animals in her area for more than 10 years now. A single mother, Ganga’s children also help her in her mission. Her home is now a safe haven to 80+ sick and injured animals - dogs and cats. Ganga works day and night to give them a better life.

These animals are no less than my own children, they deserve happiness

Talking about the unspeakable atrocities that animals face at the hands of human beings, Ganga talks about a group of people in Bhilwara who had captured a number of stray dogs on the ruse of getting them sterilised. However, Ganga soon found out that they had no intention of looking after the dogs, instead, they had chained the dogs without giving them any food or water. They even performed sterilization procedure on them without any anesthesia,

“So many of these animals died without any fault of their own. My heart broke when I got to know that these dogs have been just dumped in the garbage. There was nothing much I could do on my own. The media and the police weren’t ready to help me. Even though I couldn’t save those dogs, I am determined to save many others who are in need of help.”

Ganga works round the clock for these voiceless souls. Some are battling fatal diseases while others have been paralysed by road accidents. In her small house, she is trying her best to give these dogs nutritious food, medicines, and lots of love and affection. Ganga is working hard to spread awareness among people about the need for sterilization, the adoption of indie breeds, and how a community of animal lovers can help make a huge difference.

Ganga has been rescuing hundreds of strays on her own, you can help her

For more than a decade now, Ganga has been looking after sick, injured, and abandoned stray animals. With your help, she can do so much more. You can help her by donating food for the animals, medicine, and hygiene materials like phenyl, Dettol, etc to keep the room clean and free from infections.

“They have no one to look after them. I know how it feels to be left alone without any help or support. I don’t want these animals to suffer in silence. Your donations will help me make a big difference.”
