Anuradha Mishra Is Giving Injured Strays In Delhi A Second Chance At Life, Support Her Mission

Based out of Delhi, this NGO is home to 150+ injured and challenged dogs. Most of these dogs were supposed to be ‘put to sleep’ or in simple words, were destined to be euthanized. Anuradha gave them a second chance at life and now they have a safe place to live for the rest of their lives. 

With a little care and love, I’ve been able to save so many lives in need 

Anuradha recalls a time when she was taking care of a dog suffering from tick fever and everyone around thought that he won’t make it. They kept discouraging her from looking after an animal that was so visibly sick but Anuradha was determined to save him. 

“And today after 12 years, he is still with us - happy and healthy! Over the years, I have realised that all they need is a chance and with the right kind of treatment, 90% of cases get better and live a happy life. It pains my heart to see these babies being forced into mercy killings, I want to help as many of them as I can.” 

The seeds of this organisation were sown when Anuradha rescued 6-7 paralysed dogs who were unable to take care of themselves on the streets. Today, she has a shelter home and a dedicated team of volunteers and animal lovers who help her give the injured, sick, old, and paralysed dogs the love and care they deserve.
