    Project

Spread over 3.5 acres of land In the outskirts of Hyderabad in Mokila, is a gowshala like no other. The amount of time and effort it has taken to build this haven for hundreds of cows is commendable.

At Kamadhenu Gowshala, old and abandoned cows are given the home they need. Many of them have been rescued from going to slaughterhouses and given a new lease of life. It is said that this is one of the best-maintained gowshalas. However, the journey hasn’t been easy.

They Overcame Many Challenges To Establish The Gowshala

Started in 2018 with an intention of saving hundreds of cows, the founding family of Kamadhenu Gowshala was completely devoted to this cause and used their own money to establish and maintain the gowshala. Unfortunately, shortly afterward, they saw many challenges.

The pandemic and decline of their family business led to a lot of losses. However, they remained committed to serving the cows at the gowshala and sold their gold and silver jewelry to continue giving cows the best home possible. But in April 2021, they suffered more losses and Kamadhenu Gaushala went from being the best-maintained gowshala to a poorly maintained one.

As heartbreaking as the situation was, they overcame it. Kamadhenu Gowshala was turned into a state-registered trust and with the help of well-wishers, regained its glory.

Now They Need Your Help To Look After More Cows

Today, the gowshala has over 450+ cows and calves, most of whom are rescued, rehoused or rehabilitated. About half of the cows here are old and would have inevitably gone to a slaughterhouse if not rescued, and the other half are non-milk-yielding cows who have been abandoned.

Kamadhenu Gowshala now needs your support to get fodder to give these cows a healthy life. The fodder will save them from going hungry and also help them recover faster.

Your contribution will ensure hundreds of cows have a safe and loving home.
