Join Hands With Charan Kaur To Build A Medical Centre For Abandoned Elderly

“We sometimes have visitors for our senior citizens and you should see the happiness in their eyes when  they see people coming to meet them. Their own families have abandoned them and now they spend their last years with us. We try to give them the best of everything - these elderlies deserve happiness and comfort. That is our sole intention,” - Charan Kamal Kaur, Founder, Kartar Aasra.  

Their journey started 10 years ago and till now they have helped many in need 

From her childhood, Charan Kaur has been associated with social work. She has been working with various NGOs in and around Chandigarh. Then finally, in 2011, she decided to open her own NGO where she would be taking care of abandoned homeless people and underprivileged children. 

“My heart ached for all those who were struggling for the bare necessities. While I have been involved in social service for a long time, I wanted to do something of my own. Now when I see over 22 elderly residents and more than 20 children in our shelter home, it fills my heart with joy.”  

Kartar Aasra aims to provide the support and help that both the elderlies and the underprivileged children need. Even when the whole world turns their back on them, Charan Kaur’s Kartar Aasra stands strong and helps them lead a happy and comfortable life.

Charan Kaur and her team work day and night to provide the best of everything to their residents. They provide them vocational training, computer and spoken English classes (for the children) and give them a new purpose in life. 

“Right now, we need groceries and stationery for our residents. Your help will go a long way. Along with this, we also want to build a medical centre not just for our own residents but for anyone in need of help but can’t afford it. For that, we request you to donate construction materials - without your help, we won’t be able to make a difference.”
