Your Support Can Save Thousands Of Innocent Cows From The Deadly Lumpy Skin Disease

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Ever since the first case was reported in April this year, Lumpy Skin Disease has infected and killed thousands of cows in India. As you read this, the disease continues to spread among cattle and proves to be a great threat to their lives.

First detected in Kutch, this disease has now spread to 26 districts in Gujarat and over 27,000 cattle in Rajasthan have already succumbed to it. Over 20 states in India have seen outbreaks of this disease already. The need of the hour is timely medication to help prevent the spread of this virus and help cows recover from this disease. And we need to act now.

What Is Lumpy Skin Disease & How Does It Affect Cows?

Lumpy Skin Disease is a viral disease that is transmitted by blood-feeding insects such as flies, mosquitoes or ticks. Mosquitoes are seen in increased numbers during the monsoon, and scientists believe that it could be one of the reasons for the spike in the number of cows being infected. It also spreads through contaminated water and fodder.

The disease not only leaves the cows with severe painful physical symptoms but can also lead to death. Acute fever, discharge from the eyes and nose, salivation, soft blister-like nodules all over the body, marked reduction in milk yield, difficulty in eating and other symptoms leave these innocent beings struggling to survive.

The Plight Of Cows Is Truly Heartbreaking, But There’s Hope

There are over 5 million abandoned cattle in India, and many of them are left to fend for themselves because their old, injured, ill or simple because they don’t produce milk any longer. These cows are also vulnerable to the virus since they’re roaming free on the streets and are not kept in isolation - as suggested by experts.

Many of these cows die without any help. We at Donatekart are determined to do our bit to save these cows from pain and suffering with the support of our NGO partners. But we need your help with this.

    Your Contributions Can Save Them

With your support, thousands of cows will be able to get medicines to stay protected from the virus and those infected will be able to recover with timely help. These medicines will be life-saving for these voiceless souls who can’t even express their pain. They deserve to live a healthy and happy life and together, we can give them this.
