Son To 150+ Abandoned Elderly, This Man Needs Your Help To Give Them A Happy Life

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

It all began on the 15th of August, 2015, when Rupesh Patil, saw an abandoned baby girl by the side of the road. She was unconscious and needed immediate treatment. Rupesh wasted no time in taking her to the hospital and took complete care of the little one. This one incident sparked a feeling of happiness and satisfaction in Rupesh and he wanted to help many more in need. That was what inspired him to start Nityanand Ashram.

Based out of Mumbai, Nityanand Ashram is now home to 150+ abandoned elderly. These people have found a ray of hope in Rupesh - some call him their son while others think he is no less than God to them. For over 8 years now, this organisation is doing their best to give these abandoned souls a life of happiness and dignity.

We want to ensure that no one goes to bed on an empty stomach

“Whenever we get a call about an abandoned elderly, we rush to rescue them. So often, we find them covered in dirt, frail and tired. Most of them had given up on their lives and were just waiting to die. Some are mentally ill and in no condition to take care of themselves. We bring them to our Ashram, bathe them, and give them a fresh pair of clothes and warm meals. When I see them smile, it makes me so happy,” - Rupesh Patil, Founder, Nityanand Ashram.

Talking about the residents of the Ashram, Rupesh tells how they have been forced to live on the streets, begging for a morsel of food. Be it the scorching heat of the summers or the chilly winter nights, these elderly have no roof over their heads. These were people who once had a family and they worked hard to give them a life of happiness. Yet now, no one is ready to look after them - some are fighting mental illnesses while others are too weak from the recurring ailments plaguing them.

Nityanand Ashram wishes to bring back the smiles on the faces of these people. But there are challenges that come in the way - they fall short on groceries or are unable to buy medicines for the residents. The Ashram is also in need of hygiene essentials for the elderly residents; with a dwindling amount of donations, Rupesh finds it difficult to support them.

This is your chance to help those who are all alone in this world

Rupesh wants to give these 150+ abandoned elderly the peace and happiness they have never experienced before. But he needs your help with that. You can support him by donating groceries, hygiene products, medicine and construction materials. All of these will help Rupesh give the old and the helpless a life of comfort - every donation counts.

About the NGO: Founded by Rupesh Patil in 2015, Nityanand Ashram is an NGO based out of Mumbai that looks after 150+ abandoned elderly in need. Rupesh works day and night to give them nutritious food, medicine and a safe place to stay.
