Empowering Orphaned Children in India: The Need for Ration and Stationery Kits

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

In a country as diverse and culturally rich as India, there exists a poignant reality: the plight of orphaned children. These children face immense challenges in obtaining basic necessities like food and education. However, a ray of hope emerges through NGOs like "Need Base India," which strive to make a significant impact on the lives of these children by providing them with rations and stationery kits. Our campaign seeks to underscore the critical importance of this noble initiative, focusing on the benefits it brings to orphaned children, the broader society, and the role each of us can play in supporting this cause.

    Nutrition: A Fundamental Right

Nutrition is the cornerstone of a child's physical and cognitive development. For orphaned children, access to regular and nutritious meals can be a luxury. "Need Base India" recognizes that these children must not be deprived of the fundamental right to proper nutrition. By contributing ration kits, the NGO ensures that orphaned children have access to essential food items, such as grains, pulses, vegetables, and fruits. Adequate nutrition not only supports their physical growth but also enhances their overall well-being.

Education: The Pathway to a Better Future

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and transforming lives. However, orphaned children often face barriers to accessing quality education, including the lack of necessary school supplies. "Need Base India" recognizes that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social mobility. By providing stationery kits, the NGO equips these children with the tools they need to pursue their education effectively. This not only empowers them with knowledge but also instills hope for a brighter future.

The most vulnerable are children living on the streets, who are more likely to experience abuse and cruel treatment.  They frequently engage in petty theft or prostitution to make ends meet and spend money on abuse, drinking, gambling, and other vices. Our rehabilitation center accepts street kids with normal behavior and offers them counseling, education, and orientation. A 30-day "School Motivation Camp" is organized to encourage kids who struggle with substance abuse and hard abuses to leave the streets, covering the needed topics.

The families of the children we work to rehabilitate frequently have very challenging home environments that are unsuitable for the child's overall development. To assist these kids, we run homes on the grounds of government schools, offering all the necessities and a safe environment. They benefit from all the activities and interactions with more affluent peer groups that come with attending a regular school. Each child is given the chance to develop and realize their full potential in this supportive environment. In June 2014, the "Every Child in School" project was launched with the intention of giving every child the chance to go to school. The right of every child to an education is unalienable, and we intend to work in Karnataka and other states to uphold that right.

Through these initiatives, the NGO not only ensures that these children have access to nutrition and education but also paves the way for a brighter future.

NGO details: The non-profit organization Need Base India (A Foundation for Child Care and Development) was established in December 2009 with the goal of addressing the basic and fundamental rights of child care, protection, health, and education for children living on the streets, runaways, orphans, children who are not in school, or children in difficult circumstances.  In addition to working with children's issues for the past 15 years, Mr. Rahim S. Director served on Bangalore's Child Welfare Committee (CWC) from February 2007 to 2010."To stand for child rights and guarantee that every child gets a happy childhood, thus enabling children to become responsible citizens," is the organization's mission statement.
