Everyone deserves to be loved and cared for, especially during the last few years of their lives. After working hard and looking after everyone around them, senior citizens need their family members the most during this time. Growing old comes with so many challenges - physical, mental, and social. Many older people are left to fend for themselves and have no one to rely on. So many of them are left helpless and bedridden.

Unfortunately, not everyone gets the help they deserve. Abandoned, sick and lost, thousands of elderlies are left in old age homes or are found wandering by NGOs who then care for them.

These old age homes and NGOs are their silver lining. Here they find a home, healthy food, and the medical care they require. However, one of the biggest problems that senior citizens face is urinary incontinence i.e. loss of bladder control. This can not only be extremely unhygienic but also embarrassing for the elderlies who have to rely on others for their every single need.

Nobel Hygiene Is Supporting The Elderly This Daan Utsav

Daan Utsav is that time of the year when millions of people from all walks of life come together to give back to the society for causes they believe in. The pandemic has been a tough time for all of us. But this is also the time when thousands have stepped up to help others in need.

This Daan Utsav, Nobel Hygiene, India’s leading diaper manufacturer, wants to give thousands of senior citizens a chance to live a healthy and dignified life by distributing adult diapers. These quality adult diapers will give senior citizens at Smit Foundation, DAVO and Second Chance Foundation a happier and more comfortable life.

Nobel Hygiene will also match the products that are being donated by giving an equal number of products from their end. This will help bolster the cause further and ensure more and more senior citizens are impacted.

Beneficiary NGOs:

1. DAVO:  Started by Dev Goswami in Delhi, DAVO is an award winning NGO that has been helping the homeless, elderly, and the destitute for the last 35 years. DAVO has grown into a highly regarded, comprehensive development project supported by a wide range of organisations. They continue to carry out this service of helping the homeless, caring for them, and providing them with food. Now, they have two homes for the homeless in Dwarka and Delhi with over 60 elderlies.

2. SMIT Old Age Home And Care Foundation: Started by Yojana Gharat in 2017, SMIT Old Age Home And Care Foundation is a safe home for destitute and abandoned senior citizens. Here, they’re given the utmost love and all their needs are taken care of. Yojana currently takes care of 85 senior citizens in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, and is determined to give them a better life during their last years.

3. Second Chance Foundation: Started in 2017 by Jasper Paul, the Second Chance Foundation is an NGO that rescues and rehabilitates people who are left to die on the streets of Hyderabad. Jasper ensures that all their food, living and medical needs are taken care of here. Today, they have around 150 people who rely on Second Chance every day.
