2500+ Villagers Near Yamunotri Are Going Hungry Every Day Due To The Crisis, Help Them

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Yamunotri, the source of river Yamuna, is also one of the four sites of the Char Dham pilgrimage - making it one of the most spiritual places in the country. It’s surrounded by mountains, and is a place of tranquility for all the visitors who make their way here. Just 6 km from Yamunotri lies a small village called Kharsali with a population of 2500+. The village is made up of priests, flower vendors, small shop owners, and cleaners, among others - all of whom work at Yamunotri and rely on tourism for their daily income. They were a great source of support for the thousands of travellers who would visit Yamunotri. Whether it's providing them with flowers for the puja or helping them ride on horses during their pilgrimage, they were always there to lend a helping hand.

Once swarming with people, today Yamunotri’s religious tourism has taken a major hit due to the ongoing pandemic, leaving hundreds without a livelihood. The people of Kharsali are struggling more than they ever have and they need your help now.

    Pure Devotion Foundation Noble Efforts

“The main idol of Yamunotri temple is kept in Kharsali during the winters. This is the last village in and around that area with any population. It’s heartbreaking to see what is happening to the people here. They’re going hungry every day. Now during the off season, their plight is even worse.” - Sundar Prabhu Ji

Pure Devotion Foundation is determined to do their bit to help the thousands of people who rely on Yamunotri for their survival.

Pure Devotion Foundation is an NGO based out of Rajasthan that has been working to set up a school for the villagers in the outskirts of Jaipur. The school will have all the facilities of a good CBSE school and teachers from Jaipur will be teaching the children. Pure Devotion Foundation has worked tirelessly during the pandemic to provide food to sadhus and widows in Vrindavan. Amid the corona outbreak, they've been striving to help vulnerable communities.

Today, they need your support to help 2500+ priests, flower vendors, cleaners and small shop owners of Kharsali who’ve lost everything to the pandemic.

    How You Can Help

The pandemic had already left the people of Kharsali helpless, which makes the off season even more difficult for them. They have no one to rely on during these difficult times. Pure Devotion Foundation needs your help to give them groceries and blankets to support them through this crisis.

“Even a meal is difficult for them to come by, hence the groceries can help them greatly. They can cook healthy meals and the blankets will keep them protected from the cold. Every small step will go a long way in helping these people.”

2500+ people’s lives can change because of you. Your contribution will make a world of a difference.
