Vrindavan, the historical city of Uttar Pradesh, is said to be the home of young Diety. Countless temples, both old and modern, are found around this holy place. Thousands of pilgrims make their way to this city every year to find peace, freedom and hope. The experience of being in Vrindavan is said to be second to none.
However, Vrindavan’s significance also lies in the hundreds of people who call it home. Among these are the sadhus who’ve spent years in this city offering their devotion and relying on the kindness of pilgrims for their daily survival. Unfortunately, the travel restrictions due to the pandemic have left these sadhus with no means to survive. They continue to struggle even today.
Pure Devotion Foundation Is Determined To Help
Pure Devotion Foundation, an NGO based out of Rajasthan, has decided to help these sadhus in need by distributing grocery kits to them. They have been instrumental in providing food for sadhus and widows in Vrindavan ever since the beginning of the pandemic, and this time they need your support to continue their work.
“Earlier these sadhus would get food from the tourists and pilgrims, but ever since the first lockdown, they’ve had no means to get help. Even if they get food now, it’s barely enough. Sometimes they have only one meal a day, and sometimes not even that. They live very simple lives and have dedicated their lives to prayer and meditation. The least we can do is support them during these difficult times.” - Sundar Prabhuji
Along with their work in Vrindavan, Pure Devotion Foundation has been working to set up a school for the villagers in the outskirts of Jaipur. The school will have all the facilities of a good CBSE school and teachers from Jaipur will be teaching the children. They’ve also set up medical facilities for the widows in Vrindavan and are looking to start an ashram as well. For years now, they've been striving to help vulnerable communities.
