Hundreds Of Children In India Are Suffering, Join Hands With Bal Ghar To Give Them A Home

“We have found children abandoned on the streets in horrible conditions - sometimes even covered in maggots and flies. One look at these innocent faces and your hearts are sure to melt. These children are victims of fate but we at Swami Ganga Nand Bhuri Wale Bal Ghar give them a family and a hope for a better future,” - Kuldip Singh, Secretary, Swami Ganga Nand Bhuri (SGB) Wale Bal Ghar.  

Based out of Ludhiana, Punjab, this shelter home is a safe haven for over 50 children who have no one to call their own.  

SGB Bal Ghar is on a mission to give these kids a home  

SGB Bal Ghar is based on a very sacred principle that each child deserves to live in a family. SGB Children's Home is a place for orphaned, abandoned and destitute children where every care is provided to bring them up in a family environment. 

The organisation which was started by the great social reformer and philanthropist, Swami Shankra Nand Ji Bhuri Wale in 2003 with just 3 rescued kids from the railway station has now made it their mission to look after all those kids who have been abandoned. 

“Just recently, we brought in a couple of children whose mother had passed away due to rare condition and their father was diagnosed with kidney failure. This is not a unique story, so many of them are forced to leave their kids. It is for them that we want to continue our work.” 

The shelter home for the children not only educates these children and gives them new hope but also feeds them healthy meals and takes care of their medical and social needs. However, despite constant support from kind-hearted souls, the pandemic has served a huge blow to Bal Ghar.

About the NGO: Founded by Swami Shankra Nand Ji Bhuri Wale in 2003, this Ludhiana based shelter home is now home to 56 kids and works relentlessly to give them a better future.
