Empowering Rural Education: Providing Stationery for Underprivileged Children in Karnataka

    Education is a fundamental right that should be accessible to all, regardless of one's financial background. However, in rural areas of Karnataka, many children face significant challenges in pursuing their education due to financial limitations. Lack of basic educational resources, such as stationery, exacerbates these difficulties. To bridge this gap, it is crucial to initiate efforts aimed at providing stationary supplies to underprivileged children, empowering them to overcome educational barriers and unlock their full potential.


    Access to education should be a fundamental right for every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Sadly, many underprivileged children lack the necessary tools for effective learning. A simple stationary kit comprising essential items such as pencils, pens, notebooks, erasers, rulers, and sharpeners can make a significant difference in their educational journey. These kits not only equip children with the tools they need but also instill a sense of pride, ownership, and motivation to pursue education.




    The provision of stationery supplies to rural children in Karnataka offers several significant benefits:

    Enhancing Educational Access: By providing stationery, we remove one of the barriers preventing underprivileged children from attending school regularly and actively participating in the learning process. This enables them to access the knowledge and skills necessary for personal growth and development.


    Boosting Confidence and Motivation: Equipping children with the necessary tools for learning instills a sense of pride and motivation. When they have their own stationery, children feel a greater sense of ownership over their education, leading to increased engagement and improved academic performance.


    Breaking the Cycle of Poverty: Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. By ensuring that underprivileged children have the necessary stationery, we equip them with the means to pursue their dreams, broaden their opportunities, and escape the limitations imposed by their financial circumstances.




    We have been working with 32+ government schools by training the school teachers, conducting classes for students and providing them with teaching aids to enhance the quality of education. A few points to highlight

    Established 32+ libraries in government schools with a strength of over 400+ children with upcycled books, general knowledge, Grammar, Kannada, English, and Hindi literature books, handmade teaching materials, and print-rich materials.

    3000+ hrs. of teaching with students in Govt. Schools and orphanages.

    50+ volunteers involved in teaching school children various concepts via interactive teaching aids. To make our practices and methods more sustainable we taught the volunteers to build training materials like charts, Playaway materials for practical teaching, etc. 

    We supported all the children and their families by providing them ration kits to 1000+ families to help them go through the toughest pandemic times. 

    As Underprivileged children miss out on every opportunity to live a nourishing childhood, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Less than half of children between the ages of 6 and 14 go to school in the country. As these children grow, they are less likely to support themselves fully or become contributing citizens to the country.

    About the NGO: Cognition India On January 9, 2019, we formed a volunteer group where we started working towards global sustainable development goals like zero hunger and quality education. We collect good and hygiene excess food from the functions and gatherings and distribute it to the community where people are short of quality meals on a daily basis. We also create awareness in schools, offices, public spaces, and the community about food waste and food management.
