Story of the campaigner
Dear friends,
Slum women in India are at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid and struggle to access safe menstrual hygiene options. Many taboos around the topic of menstruation and menstrual hygiene adds to their woes.
The popular sanitary pads are non-biodegradable and laced with chemicals. After-use they end up in the landfills for hundreds of years.
We help women to switch to greener menstrual hygiene options like menstrual-cups and biodegradable / cloth pads. This is empowering slum women by improving their overall health and it is also helping their community fight environmental degradation.
We need your urgent support for providing menstrual cups, biodegradable pads, cloth pads and nutrition to slum women and adolescent girls.
Our trained team of menstrual hygiene experts are creating safe spaces where women can be educated on female reproductive health and empowered to fight taboos surrounding menstruation and menstrual hygiene.
