     Our Philosophical Roots:

We believe in the profound impact of communication, a vital bridge to strike the perfect harmony between individual growth and social upliftment. This communication resonates not only with people but also with our inner selves. Our ethos is deeply rooted in the pristine embrace of nature, the very essence of our existence. We draw inspiration from the natural world to facilitate progressive human development. Every endeavour at Shrirampur Samvad Foundation is a sensory exploration, striving towards a harmonious and sustainable societal evolution.

     The Alarming Reality:

According to a recent survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the World Bank, Bihar ranks startlingly low, occupying the 18th position out of 20 states in the 'School Education Quality Index' (SEQI) report published by NITI Aayog. These findings are emblematic of the pressing need for change.

Focusing on Our Future, the Children:

Our primary focus lies in the nurturing of children, many of whom are from families where fathers have migrated in search of employment, leaving behind a financial void that hinders not only quality education but skill development as well. We've responded by creating an eco-friendly haven where children congregate to partake in various skill development programs. We regularly welcome enthusiastic individuals from across the globe to organize these workshops.

     Our Journey:

Over the past two years, we have orchestrated the Lok Chetna Yatra, a social and economic tour, twice to promote eco-tourism and rural employment generation. Eminent personalities, including former Bihar Education Minister Dr Ramchandra Purve, environmentalist Arvind Mishra and renowned poet Geet Chaturvedi, have graced our efforts with their presence.

     Initiatives Driving Change:

    • Children's Bank: An exclusive financial space managed by the children themselves, where funds are deposited by anyone but can only be withdrawn by children following pre-set rules for their development.
    • Sakhi Saheli: A unique program fostering open discussions on girls' rights, covering vital aspects like health, education, menstruation, and marriage. This initiative also empowers girls economically and socially through various skill development workshops.
    • Baal-Manch: A vibrant platform for children to showcase their diverse talents and art forms, building their self-confidence while entertaining and engaging villagers.

     Other Key Initiatives:

    • Shrirampur Samvad Film Club in collaboration with Empathy Connect.
    • School of Nature: Engaging discussions on biodiversity and nature conservation.
    • Skill development workshops.
    • Mobile journalism by children.
    • In-depth discussions on health, child marriage, and fundamental children's rights.
    • Annual Lok Chetna Yatra.
    • Weekly tuition for rural children.
    • Community Kitchen managed by boys.
    • Hoonar Initiative, equipping children with essential life skills.

    Children

Children are the future, and our mission revolves around ensuring they have the best possible start in life. Our organization is dedicated to providing children with access to quality education, skills and social support. We work tirelessly to protect their rights, enhance their opportunities, and empower them to reach their full potential. By supporting our cause, you're contributing to a brighter, more equitable future for children, where they can grow, learn, and thrive.

    Women Empowerment

At Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, we believe in empowering women and young girls to create a brighter and more equitable space.

Sitamarhi, one of the most underdeveloped districts, faces numerous challenges, especially in the realm of women's education, confidence, and skills. Many girls in this region lack access to education, self-confidence, and the ability to exercise their rights.

Our mission is to change this reality. We firmly believe that women must have the opportunity to develop skills that grant them financial independence. When a woman possesses financial freedom, she can express herself with confidence and assert her rights.

Our programs (Sakhi-Saheli, Baal-Manch, Community Kitchen, Mobile Journalism) are designed to uplift and empower young girls and women. Currently, we're conducting 'empowerHER with English,' a transformative workshop led by Mentor Yeoh Xin Pei. This workshop is instilling confidence in girls by enhancing their English language proficiency.

The impact of our work extends beyond language skills. It gives these young women the tools to express themselves, seek financial independence, and assert their rights in society.

    Cause - Art & Culture

At Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, we firmly believe that art and culture enrich life in profound ways, adding vibrant colors to our existence. The curiosity for different forms of art is an innate quality of children. When provided with an array of materials, children naturally embark on creative journeys, crafting artistic masterpieces.

Our children, for instance, have never received formal training in painting and drawing, yet their artistic expressions are awe-inspiring. Their paintings, drawings, and poetic stories beautifully reflect the tapestry of our surroundings. These creations are not only artistic but also a reflection of our society. Shrirampur Samvad merely extends mentorship and provides the necessary resources based on the children's requests. Within this safe and nurturing environment, children actively engage in artistic endeavours, carving their creative paths.

Another noteworthy initiative, 'Bal Manch,' stands as a testament to our commitment to art and culture. This stage, exclusively led by children, unfolds its colorful canvas every Sunday. Here, children showcase their diverse talents before an audience hailing from nearby villages. Some recite self-authored poems and stories, while others serenade songs, dance, or enact stories. Bal Manch has not only revived the waning art culture in our region but also witnessed children travelling from distant villages, thoroughly prepared to perform. Moreover, it has remarkably increased women's participation in the audience, empowering them in the sphere of art and culture.

A tangible step in our art and culture journey is our community-driven endeavor in film production, Aājoor. We undertook the monumental task of crafting the first feature film in the Bajjika language, spoken by almost 25 millions people in India. This film was a collective achievement, with actors, assistants, and financial support sourced from the community.

This film is not merely a cinematic endeavor; it's a journey that began in the heart of rural Bihar, India. Bihar, historically rich and culturally diverse, has faced significant challenges, particularly in recent times with widespread migration. The northern part of Bihar, where our story unfolds, speaks a distinct language called Bajjika. Interestingly, while Bajjika is mainly associated with lower castes, some upper-caste individuals in Bihar also speak it. Bajjika, once Vaishali (Bajji) Kingdom's state language, holds historical significance tied to early democratic principles. Despite being spoken by more than 25 million people, Bajjika had never been the focus of a feature film until Aājoor.

Shrirampur Samvad's dedicated efforts have infused our community with a positive energy towards art and culture. Our people are not just interested but actively vocal about their arts. This connection with our roots, our art, and our culture elevates the significance of our society. Shrirampur Samvad endeavors to create a space where this profound connection is not just nurtured but flourishes.

    Why We Need Your Support:

At Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, we are on a mission to empower children through education, skill development, and holistic growth. Our initiatives have already made a significant impact, but to continue and expand this important work, we need your support.

Educational Materials: When mentors stay on our campus to conduct workshops, we require a range of educational materials to facilitate learning. These materials include notebooks, A4 size paper, flashcards, modeling clay, visual aids, storybooks, and even a one-time purchase of a printer for course materials. Your support will directly contribute to providing these essential resources to children.

Mentor Support: Our dedicated mentors generously volunteer their time and expertise to nurture these young minds. However, we're unable to provide them with financial compensation. To show our gratitude, we cover their travel expenses and provide basic meals during their stay with us. Your support helps us ensure that our mentors can continue their valuable work.

Visit Us: We welcome everyone to experience the positivity and impact of our work by visiting our campus. Stay amidst nature, witness the transformational work happening here, and be part of our mission. You can explore firsthand how your support makes a difference.
