    Project

Haribhai has a unique manner of telling anyone about the gaushala that he has been running for over 14 years now near Rajkot, Gujarat. A real-estate broker by profession, he meets various kinds of people and helps them with their requirements.

“My job is to bring the seller and buyer of real estate in one place and help them negotiate a deal. This is when I convince both parties to meet me at the gaushala. While they get their work done, they also look at the gaushala and the hundreds of gaumatas in our care. Some of them even go back and tell others of our work. And as more and more people learn about us, we can help many more animals in need. That is my biggest joy,” - Haribhai, Founder, Shri Siddharth Gaushala.

I got a second chance at life and decided to dedicate it to the service of these innocent animals

In 2010, Haribhai met with a terrible bike accident. His condition was so bad that even the doctors had given up hope but after 10 days in a coma, he woke up and slowly started recovering.

“This was nothing short of a miracle for me. I realised that God had given me this second chance and I wanted to make the best use of it. That’s when I decided to serve my community.”

Since then Haribhai has fed hundreds of hungry souls, especially during the COVID, helped them with medicines, oxygen cylinders, masks, etc, and rescued sick and injured gaumatas. This has now become his calling - people far and wide know about his service and shower him with love and respect.

Currently, Shri Siddharth Gaushala is home to 300+ abandoned cows and bulls. The gaushala has dedicated staff who look after all of these animals with love and compassion. Skilled doctors visit the gaushala to take care of the ailing cows. The daily expenses of the gaushala run in thousands and Haribhai doesn’t think twice about spending from his own pocket.

“One of our biggest challenges is to get a regular supply of fodder for our cows and bulls. I talk to the dealers and request them to help us when we can’t afford to pay for them. We are also in need of medicines and a vehicle that will help us in rescuing many more injured cows in need,” - Haribhai explains.

Haribhai now needs your help to give these animals a loving home and a healthy life

In his 14 years of service, Haribhai has come across several cases where the gaumata or the nandi have been found in terrible conditions. Be it illness, a tragic road accident, or simply old age - these animals would have suffered in silence had they not been rescued by this man with a kind heart. Haribhai tells the story of a visually challenged bull and a dog who were really good friends. The bull was suffering from some neurological condition and was rescued by Siddharth Gaushala.

“The dog followed him and stayed by his side while we did our best to save the bull. He was there till the nandi breathed his last. Seeing their love and friendship, I felt so touched. These animals are so pure at heart - I want to do so much more for them. Please help me in my efforts.”

Cows and bulls once formed an integral part of India’s agri-based society. But now in this fast-paced world where everything runs on technology, these animals are left to die on the roads when they stop having any use of humans. It is because of the tireless efforts of people like Haribhai that hundreds of cows and bulls in Rajkot have found peace and comfort. Your donations can help him save many more.
