“In December, after Siddharth Davale got his prosthetic arms at Inali, we asked him to try and open a water bottle. When he managed to take a sip, his eyes welled up. He hadn’t had a drop of water by himself since he lost both his arms in 1995. A simple need—denied to him for almost three decades.”– Prashant Gade, Founder, Inali Foundation

Some people just want to eat when they’re hungry. Some want the dignity of cleaning up after themselves. Others ache to hold their child’s hand or caress their face. These aren’t big dreams. But for many, they’re impossible. Prashant wants to change that—he wants to give specially-abled the freedom to live fulfilling lives.

At a time when fully functional prosthetics cost 24L, Prashant built one that cost just 15K

During his final year of college, Prashant felt disheartened by the lack of practical learning in engineering. Determined to make a difference, he dropped out and pursued robotics instead.

At just 21, Prashant's life changed when he met an 8-year-old girl born without arms. Seeing her struggle, he was determined to help. But when he discovered that prosthetic limbs cost a staggering ₹24 lakhs, he knew he couldn’t afford it—nor could he walk away.

“So, I decided to build prosthetic limbs that many more like her could afford. Countless hours, and 100 iterations later, I had the prototype of a fully functional electronic prosthetic limb in my hand that cost just 15k. The girl now has both arms…”

Inali Foundation has changed the lives of 8,000+ differently-abled souls

Since 2018, Inali has distributed more than 10,000 arms. The team sets up camps across India, making it possible for underprivileged people with disabilities to receive prosthetic limbs free of charge. They were creating a lasting impact in the lives of amputees all around when fate dealt the foundation a stumbling block.

They were about to call it quits, but a woman who had undergone 15 amputations reignited their purpose

Inali’s electronic, fully functional prosthetic limbs that enabled people to perform daily tasks, drive cars, operate machinery, and take up jobs, were seen as a threat by larger private and government-owned organizations that built purely cosmetic limbs. And naturally, the going got tough for Inali.

“Amidst all this chaos, a woman named Sita who’d undergone 15 amputations, underwent fitment with us, and she began weeping looking at her arms. I rushed to see what was wrong. Still crying, she told me she couldn’t wait to go home and comb her daughter’s hair. That was it…she renewed my sense of purpose. There was no turning back. Today, we’re still here…”

Help Inali Foundation distribute 1,000 electronic prosthetics for free

Inali means new beginnings, and the foundation aspires to give the gift of new beginnings to more people with disabilities. The cost of building an arm is Rs. 15,000, and the need of the hour is 1,000 such arms. With your help, they will be able to make life worth living for many. Donate now to lend a hand.

About the NGO: Founded in 2018 by Prashant Gade, Inali Foundation is on a mission to provide affordable upper limbs to those who have lost them in accidents or were born without them. Using cutting-edge technology that matches international standards, the foundation has already transformed over 10,000 lives across India. Inali focuses on helping those who cannot afford prosthetics or medical assistance, giving them a chance to reclaim independence and dignity. With every limb provided, Inali is changing lives and spreading hope.
