Let’s make Teachers’ lives a little more comfortable by providing them with tables and chairs in their classroom.

While many students are being provided benches in classrooms, teachers have not been provided a simple chair and table in classrooms and staff rooms in many Government schools. Requests to higher authorities have been mostly futile. Your support to this campaign will accord respect to teachers. Many teachers, especially women, have developed varicose veins and other health issues.

Teaching is considered a noble profession. Teachers are the backbone of the educational system and directly impact students in a lot of ways. Sometimes teaching turns into a really thankless job, with them being denied the bare minimum required to run a classroom. 

A large part of a teacher’s job occurs while they’re standing. This constant strain, in addition to them not even having tables and chairs, causes health complications like varicose veins, which in future if left untreated develop ulcerations and even require procedure! 

In cases where the teacher is pregnant, it becomes all the more difficult to take a class while standing for 8 hours straight. It is inconsiderate to put them through such misery while they’re trying to shape their students’ future.  

A table and a chair are the bare minimum every school should be providing every teacher with. Tables even come in handy when the teachers are trying to demonstrate something to the classroom. It’s a very utilitarian piece of furniture that can potentially make their jobs and lives manifolds easier. 

Let’s reward teachers for their contribution to the society by giving them the basic comfort of a table and a chair in the classroom. Let’s not make them feel they’re doing a thankless job by sacrificing their health and well being.
