Archie Sen Needs Your Help To Save The Injured and Hungry Strays In Ranchi

25 YO Archie Sen and her family have dedicated their lives to serve the stray dogs of Ranchi. They have been feeding them for over a year now. Archie Sen and Sanjeet Sen - this father-daughter duo have been serving around 150-200 dogs every day, ever since the pandemic began.  

The family ensures that the dogs are not just well-fed but also vaccinated and not dehydrated. They have created over 50 water pots and in various areas and have put a fluorescent dog collar on more than 150 of them to protect the stray from any road accidents or mishaps. They have also undertaken adoption for 50+ dogs and have helped them find happy homes. 

“I saw someone pour boiling water on a dog and her pup - I knew I had to do something”

Archie recalls that fateful day when she saw someone pour boiling hot water on a dog and her pup. How can people be so cruel - she thought to herself. But despite filing a complaint, there is nothing much that was done.  

“I knew that I wanted to do something for these innocent animals who have no one for them. They don’t deserve cruelty but only love and affection. However, the pandemic made my resolve only stronger. I started with feeding a few dogs but every day, more and more started coming. Of course, I couldn’t turn them away!” - Archie Sen. 

They later started a page - 'Street Dogs of Ranchi', a community for animal lovers and others to donate as they like and come forward to help.  

“It is with their help that we have been able to continue this far. We have also spent a lot from our pockets but that doesn’t matter. We want your help so that many more animals in need can get the help they require.”

Archie’s father has been a constant source of support for her and both of them think that there is nothing better than the satisfaction of feeding hungry strays. But they want to reach out to many more and they need your help for that.
