This NGO Is Working To Provide Employment To Women With Free Sewing Training Centres
Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.
Project
The reason for naming this project 'Sumera' .... 'Su' means good 'Mera' means tailor 'Sumera' means good tailor. Topudubandi Foundation has launched a free sewing training center in collaboration with the V Care Foundation with the aim of providing self-employment for economically backward women in 30 villages around Kalluru, Khammam district, Telangana.
Training in sewing, and thus employment creation is the main objective of this program. In order to make this dream come true, a large building was rented on Kalluru Main Road and a training center was started on April 8, 2021 with 25 machines (15 small, 10 large).
The first batch had accommodated 50 women. We have 2 shifts , one from 9.00 am-1.00 pm and second from 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm. We have hired four trainers to train them. We have also hired a mechanic to repair the machines in case of any problems. Training center is well equipped with water and all the sanitisation measures. Plans are afoot to turn the training into employment by making masks, night dresses, sewing school dresses and making ready-made dresses.
What do they need?
The demand is very high. Hundreds of women are coming from the surrounding villages. In order to fulfil the requirements we are planning for four shifts. We currently need another 100 machines to make this possible. We also need 2 types of machines. One is a small sewing machine that costs 6800 to train beginners, as well as a large sewing machine that costs 9800 to do the job. For this we would need your help. Even a small donation would make a big difference.
