Join Hands With Voice Of Slum & Help Save Thousands During The Harsh Winter

As the cold winter months approach, Rupa* shudders at the thought of the cold nights she would have to brave with just a thin rug and a fire by the roadside. 14 YO Rupa lives in the Delhi slums but this little one has seen her share of pain and suffering. She lost her father during the COVID and since then her mother has been struggling to feed her and her little brother. Rupa knows it has been difficult for her mother but she is scared that they might not be able to survive the cold if they don’t have help.  

Voice of Slum is a non-profit, youth-driven organization that is working relentlessly to transform the lives of slum dwellers of Delhi and NCR. They not only educate the kids but also work hard to give them good opportunities so that they can break the shackles of poverty and become self-reliant. They have made a remarkable impact on the lives of thousands living in Noida’s slums during the pandemic too. Every winter, Voice of Slum takes up the noble task of distributing warm clothes, blankets, and woolens to the poor and needy. This time they want to do the same.

Dev and Chandni Khan started Voice of Slum in 2016. Both of them had tough childhoods and had to struggle really hard to succeed in life. There were days when they went without food, they didn’t know if they would make it to the next morning. Dev was just 11 when he ran away from his home to escape his father’s abuse and neglect. He lived at the railway station for days and lived off whatever he could find. And Chandni started working when she wasn’t even 10. At a time when she should have been learning and studying, the responsibility to take care of her family fell on her shoulders.  

“Having seen so many hardships in our own lives, we wanted to ensure that no child suffers like us ever. We wanted to give the poor and the underprivileged a better life and that’s why Chandni and I started Voice of Slum,” - Dev Pratap, co-founder, Voice Of Slum.

Each year, we hear about hundreds of homeless people who have died braving the cold winter waves. While we are all cuddled up in our homes with warm clothes and good food, there are so many on the streets who don’t even have the means to afford a single meal or a blanket. Voice of Slum wants to change that with your support.

About The NGO:

Voice of Slum is an NGO based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Its mission is to assimilate street children into mainstream society by providing them with quality education,  exposure, and access to opportunities. The NGO is run by Dev and Chandni, who were born in slums, and who have been through it all.
