For generations, access to basic necessities has remained a distant dream for many slum families. Children in these communities often find themselves selling balloons, masks, books, and flowers at traffic signals instead of going to school or enjoying their childhood. It's tough for them to emerge from environments that are filled with struggles and dangers. Despite these challenges, slum children have so much potential. Sadly, they often lack the essentials they need to thrive.

Chandni Khan and Dev Pratap Singh, the founders of Voice of Slum, embarked on a mission to rewrite the destinies of slum-dwelling children in 2016, and ever since then, they have changed the lives of countless poor kids in Noida’s slums. Chandni and Dev’s own tough experiences inspired them to create Voice of Slum and the hardships they faced fueled their determination to prevent other children from going through the same struggles. They firmly believe that every child, no matter their situation, should have a childhood full of happiness and good health.

They have served over 22 lakh meals to slum kids so far and aim to continue giving them nutritious meals so that they don’t go to bed hungry ever again.

For over four years now, the partnership between Voice of Slum and Donatekart has been a beacon of hope, creating an impact on the lives of thousands of children. Together, their collective efforts have brought meaningful change—be it elevating the prospects of underprivileged slum children by eradicating hunger and facilitating education or extending a helping hand during disasters and times of adversity.

Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, their collaboration shone brightly, ensuring that numerous families and children in India's slums received essential grocery kits and nourishing cooked meals. Even in the face of the recent devastating floods in North India, Voice of Slum tirelessly worked towards helping victims stand on their feet again.

4. Minimizing Waste: They strictly follow a no-waste policy. Any surplus food left after mealtime is redistributed to those in need.

About the NGO: Chandni and Dev Pratap founded Voice of Slum in 2016, driven by their own experiences growing up in a slum. They understand the struggles and hardships that come with such living conditions, and they didn't want other children to miss out on the childhood they deserve. Their empathy and motivation to make a difference in the lives of others inspired them to create Voice of Slum. The NGO is dedicated to providing slum children with education and employment opportunities so they can reach their full potential. Their mission is to empower these children and give them the opportunities they deserve. Starting in a small hut with just a few children, the organization has grown to empower hundreds of children in the slums of Noida.
