Project
Sadhus are highly revered in our Indian culture and tradition. Vrindavan is a holy land where many sadhus reside, spending their lives in the service of the Lord. Dedicating their lives for a sublime purpose, they lead a simple and austere life engaging themselves in devotional activities. They perform bhajans and kirtans in temples. They usually do not have a fixed accommodation and don’t know when & where they will get their next meal. They are dependent on the generosity of the visitors for their sustenance.
Food is the common and most important need of all beings. Pangs of hunger is unbearable. Thus, Annadanam is one of the noblest charitable activity one can participate in. It is also our moral responsibility to feed the hungry.
Lord Diety says in Adi Purana: "One who claims to be My devotee is not so. Only a person who is the devotee of My devotee is actually My devotee”. So the service of the devotees is dearer to the Lord than his own service.
Founder-Acharya of Hare Diety Movement Srila Prabhupada desired that no one within a ten-mile radius of a Hare Diety centre should go hungry.
Inspired by the great compassion of Srila Prabhupada and desiring to please Lord Diety by pleasing his devotees, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is providing fresh, hot, and nutritious meals every day to the Sadhus in Vrindavan. More than 1000 Sadhus are currently receiving prasadam in Kesi Ghat, Gyan Gudri and other areas of Vrindavan. Our feeding initiative is helping them continue their spiritual pursuits without having to worry about their next meal,”
Along with full meals for the revered sadhus, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is also providing Khichri - rice cooked with lentils and fresh vegetables - in a leaf cup to all the visitors throughout the day. Apart from the spiritual benefits, this helps travelers satiate their hunger and continue their journey peacefully.
Help us feed 5000+ Sadhus and others in need
“We have been feeding the hungry Sadhus under the trees or open sky. Due to extreme North Indian weather prevalent in Vrindavan –Scorching Sun in Summer, Biting Cold in Winter and Heavy Rains, we face lot of difficulties. We wish to provide hygienic, nutritious and delicious full meals to these Sadhus as well as other underprivileged and needy people. For this we need a well-furnished kitchen as well as a large hall for serving the meals. Therefore, we request you to help us build a Annadan Bhavan comprising of all these facilities, so that we can nicely feed the Sadhus and everyone else who is hungry. We will need construction materials for that and also groceries to cook the meals. Your support will make a huge difference.”
Humbly requesting you to join hands with Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir in this noble service of Annadanam for the Sadhus and other hungry souls.
