He Sold All That He Owned To Give Injured Strays A Home, Join Praveen In His Mission

“These animals are my life. I shall fight for them till my last breath. Over the years, we have saved more than 1000 plus animals and want to save many more. These voiceless beings have no one to care for them and if we humans don’t look after them, they are forced to die in pain,” - Praveen Kumar L, Founder, We Save Animals Trust (WSA). 

Praveen is in his early thirties, and he has been rescuing sick and injured animals since 2014. All of it started when Praveen rescued a kitten with a spinal injury. He nursed it at home, but it passed away after a week, leaving Praveen to wonder what he could do to help numerous animals that suffer in silence like this. Slowly but steadily, people learned about his work, and Praveen was able to save more and more animals in need. 

My family stood by me like a rock and supported me in my mission

“I started getting rescue calls from Mysore, Mandya, Chikmagalur, and Hosur. I couldn’t keep all of them at home and decided to build a shelter for them. I come from a middle-class family - it’s not easy, buying a piece of land, or building an animal shelter. But my family has been supporting me throughout. I sold my car, my mother gave me her and my late sister’s jewellery. And when that was still not enough, mother mortgaged our property papers! We built the shelter in K Chudahalli near Guhanthra Resort on Kanakapura Road, Bangalore.

Praveen takes good care of the 200+ animals staying in the shelter. There are dogs, cats, cows, and even sheep and horses. Many of them are paralysed due to road accidents or visually challenged because of age. 

These animals were in no condition to survive on their own - with the love and care they receive at WSA, they now have a comfortable life. Surrounded by the pure and unconditional love of these innocent animals, Praveen who was once a gym trainer is now living the best life. 

But the need is ever-increasing for the shelter and Praveen and his team of dedicated volunteers want to make a difference. You can join hands with them and give these animals a better life.

Praveen’s life now revolves around these animals who are helpless. He looks after them round the clock and gives them medicines, food, and everything else they need to be comfortable. This kind-hearted man didn’t think twice to give up all he owned for the strays but today he needs your help. 

“We have many dogs who are paralysed and in need of wheelchairs. I humbly request you to consider donating to them. Apart from that, we are always in need of dog food, medicines, and cleaning supplies to provide the best of everything to these furbabies. I have seen them wag their tails and cuddle with joy when they’re happy and that joy fills my heart. Please help us save many more like them.” 

About the NGO: Founded by Praveen Kumar L, We Save Animals Trust in Bangalore is home to hundreds of stray dogs, cats, cows, Horse and even sheep and goats. Praveen has sold all his belongings for these innocent animals. All he wants is to give them a better life.
