Help Build A Safe School For 75 Visually Challenged Girls, Gift A Brighter Future

Dattu Agarwal hasn’t had an easy life. Visually impaired from the age of 3, he has had to overcome several hurdles along the way. But he never let that stop him from helping others. He’s always believed in empowering the visually impaired, especially the girls since they have lesser access to amenities.

In 2007, he founded the Ambubai Residential School For Visually Challenged Girls in memory of his mother. This school in Gulbarga, Karnataka started with just four girls. Today, it has 75 girls who work hard on their studies day and night in hope for a bright future. Dattu Agarwal wants to give them the best education he can. 

“I started the school because there were no schools here specifically for visually challenged girls. They have to go through a lot already, they deserve a good education and access to the best resources. But now I’m struggling to do this on my own.” - Dattu Agarwal

The current school is in a building that is not challenged-friendly. There is a constant risk of the students falling or getting injured. Hence, Dattu wants to build a safer, challenged friendly building where the girls can have the right infrastructure with modern amenities.

While Dattu was able to start the construction of the new school building, he was forced to stop due to the lack of funds. The girls are still studying in the old building today. They also get several students requesting admission, but due to the lack of space in the old building, they can't be accommodated. 

Dattu Agarwal now needs your help to get construction material and build a new school that can accommodate many more girls and give them a chance of a bright future.
